25 Years at the pulse of time
Watches can be far more than just chronometers for telling
the time. Their design and form also command acknowledgement
and can signify the general behaviour and attitudes of
the wearer. We have been designing and producing
watches of proven Swiss quality for 25 years now
to act as advertising media for companies, products
and enterprises. Practically any idea can be implemented
by a broad spectrum of technicians and thanks to
our many years of know-how. The name of your company,
an image of your product or your logo can thus be
carried out into the world in this impressive and elegant
manner – by means of those people who you really appreciate – all
wearing watches on which they can depend. CHRONO AG is
producing watches for worldwide famous brands.
A Family Business
Independent, autonomous, competitive
CHRONO AG is an twentyfive year old efficient family business in Solothurn, Switzerland.
The Family owner directed company seeks to keep its entrepreneurial independence
in the future. Thanks to an emphasis on a well-developed sense of individuality
and flexibility Chrono AG can very efficiently transpose to new trends and fulfil
specific customer needs. On the basis of a long-term investment policy the know-how
in technology and marketing is kept up to the newest standards. Since its establishment,
in other terms, since 1981, Chrono Limited has actively taken part as an exhibitor
at Baselworld (Watch Fair in Basel).
A Building with a longstanding tradition
CHRONO AG as a twentyfive year old efficient family business moved into the former
building of the national watchmakers school in Solothurn. The building was built
between 1915 and 1916 by the watch manufacturer Stadler. In 1930 it was taken
over by Solothurn’s local authorities, which later handed it over to the
first watchmakers’ school in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Between
1930 and 2002, watchmakers were trained at the prominent corner building in the
north-west of what was known as the most beautiful baroque city in Switzerland.
In 1972 the school was nationalized, and the building was subsequently rebuilt
several times to meet the ever-changing requirements. In 2002 the school moved
to Grenchen, and the traditional building was put on the market for sale. It
was bought by Chrono AG, which fully renovated and rebuilt it. The building’s
long watchmaking history and tradition were crucial factors influencing Chrono
AG’s decision to move out of its cramped premises in Loretostrasse.
